Seeing Stars with NARS Orgasm

Nars Orgasm blush color is a delightful pinky-peach with gold shimmer. It gets quite a lot of press since it basically gives your cheeks a post-orgasmic glow and was even featured as one of the "Best of Sephora." Well, I'm an inquiring mind, so I wanted to see if any of the NARS Orgasm product line could bring me to new heights!


NARS "The Multiple" in Orgasm ($37)
This Orgasm product gets the most attention for it's ability to serve as eyshadow, lipstick, and blush. I gave it a shot and really REALLY wanted to love it. Well, I didn't. The smooth powdery stick of pinky-peach blush rubs off MUCH too quickly, and when it's blended, it rubs off completely. This is an Orgasm to avoid. FAIL.


NARS powder blush in Orgasm ($25)
Of all the NARS Orgasm products, this is the best. It's a shimmery pinky-peach that gives most cheeks the perfect amount of glow. It does have sparkles (not enough? try SUPER orgasm!) but they aren't huge flakes of glitter but rather itty bitty flecks of shimmer. If you only buy one blush, this could be it.


NARS lip gloss in Orgasm ($24)
In a word, perfect. This lipgloss stays put with or without lipliner, though lining will always extend the life of your color. Again, the lovely peachy-pink that is the signature Orgasm hue is nearly universal in this application. Lovely for a natural look with a little bit of glam.


NARS nail polish in Orgasm ($16)
Light colored nail polish can be nice for a natural look, but I prefer something matte in this case. The Orgasm color applied to nail color is a major FAIL. I think it's the gold shimmer in it. I showed it to a friend and she even commented that it made my nails look like they were carrying some sort of funky fungus. Ewww!

Strip your lips!

Laura Geller Lip Strip ($16)


Dry, cracked lips are not attractive, especially when slathered in lipstick or lipgloss! Do yourself a favor and strip your lips!

As women, we scrub and exfoliate every inch of our skin, but the lips are often neglected. Laura Geller's Lip Strip is a lovely little product that is perfect for the job! Just take a dab of the fabulously scented goop on your finger and scrub-a-dub-dub your dry lips. Don't worry if you get it in your mouth -- it taste's delicous! Rinse and pat dry. Your lips will be smooth and moist and ready for... well, anything, really.

Moroccan Oil Treatment

Moroccan Oil Treatment $39 (3.4 oz)



I really like shiny, glossy hair. One of the best products I've found to help me achieve this goal is Moroccan Oil. It truly is an oil! With an amber color and woodsy scent, Moroccan oil brings on the shine.

It's pretty versatile, too. Sometimes it's the only thing I use on my hair before I blow-dry, or other times I use it after mousse and a blow-dry to add gloss and tame the frizzies. It's also a great product to take to the beach and rub into your locks after some chlorine or salty submersion.

A little goes a long way, so be conservative. It also lasts a long time. I've had the small bottle since March and it's not even nearly empty.

I can't wait to try more products in the Moroccan Oil line!

Sexy Summer Feet

Sally Hansen Just Feet Spa Sugar Scrub ($7)


When I do my own pedicures at home, I always start with Sally Hansen's Spa Sugar Scrub. This is a very creamy scrub that helps slough away dead skin while taming your calluses. If you wear sandals all summer (like me!), you can also use this a few times a week to keep those feet looking sexy and not dry.

Tweezerman's Pedro Callus Stone ($20)


I also like Tweezerman's Pedro Callus Stone. Who is Pedro, you ask? Well, I don't know, but I like this tool, so I'd say he's an alright guy. Use this handy handled callus stone to scrub down your feet after a good rub down with Sally Hansen's Spa Sugar Scrub. With proper cleaning and storage (it hangs!) this should last many, many months.

Rose Freshface Primer

Rose Freshface Primer by Fresh ($36)

What a great foundation primer! I've had issues with foundation sliding off my face, not covering my face, or just making an oily muck of my skin. Rose Freshface Primer is a lovely light lotion that imparts the scent of cucumber and rose onto your skin while making foundation stay locked into place.

According to Fresh, "This silky formula is packed with Porphyridium Cruentum, a smart micro-algae that helps balance skin’s moisture levels, plus the soothing benefits of rosewater and cucumber extracts."

Well, I'm a believer! I've tried a few various foundation primers and this one is my new favorite. I've tested this with a cream foundation and a spray foundation with phenomenal results.

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder ($30)

This silicon powder is, hands down, the BEST powder I have ever used on my face. I applied it with a wedge sponge early in the morning to set my foudation and it immediately killed unwanted shine and gave my skin a very, VERY smooth texture and appearance. I was worried because the powder is white, but it was completely translucent on my skin.
